Interview: Cover girl Diala Alomerovic (Sweden)

Can you tell us a little about you?
I was born in Sweden in a family with roots from Serbia and Montenegro (which could explains my height and temperament) and is one of my favourite places to spend my summers and holidays in. Im currently working asa nurse. Having to help people with difficulties is one of my biggest passions next to modeling. Two totally different worlds but thats also what makes life so interesting, and I want to continue to develope in both these two areas.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

Maybe my temperament. But in that case just a little. ;)

How did you start modeling?
I started modeling in january this year so I would say Im still a rookie. I was asked by a photographer on Instagram if I wanted to try on a testshoot. He was looking for new faces for his agency (Lynx). When I got to the studio I was soo nervous! But the session went well and after that I got more requests from other photographers to more photo sessions.

What do you think of the work as a model?

Being a model for me means being aware of yourself. Its not about being pretty in front of the camera. Its about sending a message, which gives a model the ability to create. With that comes a big responsibility, because you are your own trademark.
In the beginning of modeling I was very shy and insecure. There were times I thought this wasnt something for me. But fortunately I had good mentors that got me thinking "outside of the box". When you’re not in your comfort zone, thats when you learn the most about yourself and since the beginning I’ve grown in front of the camera and feel much more comfortable! Modeling gave me the chance to open up and meet a lot of new interesting people and I’m not thinking of quitting for a long while. But make no mistake, I’m fully aware that it takes lots and lots of hard workto become succesfull.

What is your beauty regimen

I work out a few times a week and when it comes to food Im a real cheater. I love food, especially heavy food as pizza and pasta, wins over salad almost everytime. To stay healthy I try to keep my routines in balance. Workout, eat, sleep well and of course keep a positive mind and stay happy!

What are youre personal qualities which distinguish your from others?
Tough question. I believe everyone are unique and have their own story that you can learn something from. I would describe myself as a very positive and outspoken person but my curiosity for life is what keeps me going forward. Finding inspiration and interacting with people is important for me because it stimulates me to bring out my best qualities!

I try to aspire the constantly moving life so that I can inspire others as well. I believe its important to stay true to yourself and be aware of what you want in life.

What are your plans for the future?

Having a college diploma is important for me and my family so my plan is to study at the university, in the area of medicine and nursing. But for now Im focusing on expanding as a model and putting my name on the market and travel more outside of Sweden.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

My favourite experiences has been those where Ive met the most interesting and loving people. People who are willing to encourage and help you on the way.  Even though it has  not been a year since I started modeling Ive been going through a journey, physically and emotionally and much more is to come!

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?

My top advice would be to work on your selfesteem. You have to believe in yourself because as a model, your looks is what people you  work with will judge you for  primarily, and its much more attractive when somebody radiates a good selfesteem and feels good about their body.

What do you think of the magazine?

I think this magazine puts the light on the real life of people who works in this industry. Its inspiring and ecouraging and as a model Im grateful that Im a part of it.
