Tell us a little about yourself

My name is Kimberley Boelen and I am 25 years old. Big part of my life I have lived outside my home country the Netherlands. I lived in Germany, Poland and Czech Republic and consequently studied at different International schools.

Now I am living again in the Netherlands. I am a professional hairdresser by education, but healthy living, exercising, modeling and promotional work are now my passion.

I started having photo-shoots and step by step became more confident in modeling. I went to Brazil in 2015 and 2016 for several months and was accepted by Mega Models, the largest modeling agency in Brazil. Unfortunately I was unable to get a work VISA.

 

If you could change something about yourself what would it be?

The thing I struggle with most is my self confidence. I wish I was more secure and proud of the things I’ve accomplished. I have grown a lot over the last several years, I’m chasing my dreams and have lost over 10kg. I’m at the gym daily and live a very healthy lifestyle, some even say to healthy (who thought there was such a thing). I’m still on my journey to figure out what works best for me and my body because I believe there isn’t one lifestyle to live by, its different for everyone!

 

How did you start modeling?

I have always been interested in being a model but never had the measurements. It was when I turned my whole lifestyle around to being a fit girl that friends and people around me would tell me how beautiful I am. Thats how I began having shoots and becoming more confident about my looks.

 

What is your beauty regimen?

I can advise everyone that taking care of your body makes you get that special glow, but there is also one thing to take into account and that is to not make it an obsession and keep enjoying life.  I have let fitness and healthy eating rule my life for quit some time, which actually ended up giving me some health problems. Being fit and healthy has its own definition for everyone, follow yours and make wise decisions! Another beauty regimen I’d like to share is to always cleanse and moisturize your face in the morning and night. It will keep your face glowing, even after a night of partying.

 

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

Perseverance: I have made many steps to be where I am right now and will continue making steps. Every chance I get I take, even though I might not feel comfortable doing it. Sometimes its also the experience that gets you further in life and make you stronger. If you don’t try you won’t grow.

 

What are your plans for the future?

My plans for the future are to keep on growing and traveling the world, while inspiring others to chase there dreams. I love being a commercial model so I hope to be able to do this for many more years. I would also like to compete in some beauty pageants in the future.

 

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

My favorite experiences so far are my photo-shoots with several professional photographers in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This because Sao Paulo has so much nice scenery to offer.

 

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?

The advice I would like to give others is that it takes a lot of time, effort and dedication. You won’t get there by just sitting around and waiting for something to happen.
