Can you tell us a little about you?

Next to my modelling career I work together with my boyfriend Danny in our freelance company “DVT Handcrafted Hair” where I am responsible for all the communication, press and organizational tasks and support him in his creative being. I organize shootings, projects, workshops, events and try to get as many jobs in and outside of the Netherlands in as possible. It is a lot of work but can also be combined with my modelling very well.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

I would change my sensation of heat. I always freeze – my perfect climate would be a weather with no less than 25 degrees. That’s especially annoying because i have so many nice summer clothes and always have to think twice whether i should wear it or something warmer.

How did you start modeling?

Sorry for the standard story, but I got scouted whilst being on a shopping trip. I was scouted when i was 16 years old and signed in with a modelling agency that supported and tought me a lot. I was getting in a lot of bookings and soon was booked all over Europe and met a lot of great spirits.

What do you think of the work as a model?

I still like it a lot otherwise I would not be doing it anymore but I am very happy that it is not only modelling anymore. With my work next to it it gives me a lot of variety. I would not want to model for a living anymore as there is a lot more to the creative industry.

What is your beauty regimen?

A lot of laughing, water and day & nightcreme J

What are your plans for the future?

Getting started internationally with DVT Handcrafted hair, more time to unfold creativity and inspiration and meeting great people to collaborate with.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

Winning the Wella Trendvision Award 2014 and being able to participate in the international championship in Monaco. We were able to network a lot and met people we would probably have never met otherwise. The whole trip was extremely straining but we came back with a lot of inspiration and new ideas.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?

Be yourself and dont copy others – you are unique – the rest is already taken. It is a lot of work and sometimes very frustrating but modelling opens you a lot of doors in the future.

What do you think of the magazine?

I really like the fact. That Modellenland Magazine also showcases the artists behind the editorial work and does not only publish the pictures. It is very interesting to read what inspired people to create a certain series, what keeps them going and where their drive comes from.
