Tell us something about yourself
Hello, my name is Marian Wodzisz, I am from Poland, but currently I am living in UK. I have day job not related to photography, but after work I turn into a photographer and retoucher.
How and when did you get into photography?
It happened a couple of years ago, during holidays in beautiful Mexico when I realised that photography may be a good way to capture beauty of the world. When my girlfriend, Dorota, became a Make Up Artist, we decided that we will team up and I will focus on studio photography. We now work together on almost all session I have photos from.
What does photography mean to you?
This is my getaway from normal life.
Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.
My photography is rich in colours and shapes, different. Sometimes chaotic, sometimes very clean. I change styles quite often. Almost all of my photos are portraits of models with unusual make-up and styling.

Where do you get inspiration from?
Countless images, drawings found on Internet, different music genres, shapes and colours of everyday objects and of course photos of the best photographers - however instead of making copies of them I try to learn from them.
Think you in advance what you want in the picture?
I like when photos show good image composition, interesting shapes, light and this is what I want to achieve and aim for during planning stage.
Studio, on location or both?
Studio, I like the control over the light I have in studio environment.
Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?
I think that a hobbyist defines my photo activity better for now, however I may try to be a full time photographer or image retoucher in future.

What has been your most memorable session and why?
It was one of the latest session, with body painting, bald cap on model`s head and huge number of tiny crystals on her body. It took few weeks of planning to design whole look and over 11 hours of hard work of two Make Up Artists to prepare model for shooting, but the results were outstanding. I really enjoy looking at pictures from this session.
What has been the biggest source of inspiration in your work?
Photos of the very best photographers in the world.
Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?
Canon. But it does not really matter. I am just a happy owner of camera equipment good enough to forget about never ending internet gear wars or pursuits for technical perfection.
My favourite lens is a Canon 135L.
What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?
Be good in what you do, always act professionally and have loads of luck.
What do you think of our new magazine?
I think you are doing a great job. Despite being quite new, you already have a lot of quality content in magazine.
