Marisah Pam

Can you tell us a little about you?

My name is Marisah Pam. I was born in Thailand but I have been living in the Netherlands now for seven years. I enjoy my life here very much. I somehow feel more free to do the things I want to do. I am somebody who is always looking for goals and new challenges. Life is too short, do not waste your time!

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

Nothing! That does not mean I am self-indulgent, it just means I am happy with my life. I think it is impossible to have a perfect body. Real beauty  comes from inside and starts with confidence and a good attitude.

How did you start modeling?

‘By coincidence. I was learning dutch and the school started a advertising-campaigne. They made pictures from students and suddenly a poster from me was on a city-train that was cruising everyday in the city. A photographer saw it, searched and found me: that was my first shoot. And since that day it sort of took off.’

What do you think of the work as a model?

‘I love it. I always want to make something special from a shoot, it really pushes me to get the best out of me.’

What is your beauty regimen?

‘I sport, sport and sport….Running, fitness. I really don’t mind, it is something I love to do. I usually eat everything without really any care, but when a photo-shoot is getting closer then I start to watch my weight and diet.

What are your plans for the future?

‘To make the best of the next photo-shoot….That is really the only thing you can influence yourself. And then it is just a case of being ready for a next challenge.’

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

‘It is always nice to go to Paris for a shoot…Last time I took some girlfriends with me so we could hang out and make a holiday from it. And it was also rewarding that my pictures featured in some magazines in the US.’

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?

‘Inform and pick the right photographers. You get a lot of offers but always determine if you will get quality-pictures. And also do not be afraid to take on work. I find that through the years the experience gives you more confidence and it will improve you as a model. And make sure you get your work out there to see for everybody. These days through social media (Instagram, facebook) you have the right tools to make sure everybody can see your work. Use it!’

What do you think of the magazine?

I love the concept. The magazine combines beauty and fashion and it is also nice to read interview with other models. And the photography is stunningly good.
