Can you tell us a little about you?
Hi everybody! My name is Michaela Kaplanová, I come from the Czech Republic and since 2014 I live in the Netherlands. Currently I am working as a freelance model, enjoying my life and making all my dreams come true :)
If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?
I think everybody has bad days sometimes when you don’t like something about yourself, however, it’s neccesary to love ourselves the way we are and don’t feel bad about those little unimportant things. That’s just so exhausted for our body and mind. It would be sooo boring if everybody would look same, wouldn’t it? Enjoy your uniqueness ;)
How did you start modeling?
Well that is already a long time ago when I was studying in Liberec (the North of the Czech Republic, about one hour from Prague) and I went, after many pushy comments from my friends that I should really try it :-D, to my first casting. It went well and I enjoyed it as well so I decided to continue and see where it goes.

What do you think of the work as a model?
Despite of many people opinions, it’s a really hard job :-D. But mostly you meet a lot of great, creative, clever, hard-working and kind people whom it’s a pleasure to spend time with.
What is your beauty regimen?
Sleep enough, drink a lot of water, eat smaller portions but more often, exercise my body and practise relaxation of my mind, smile a lot, love and be loved and listening to my body! Why to listen to somebody’s advices and read an articles what is good to eat and do, when everybody is different and each body will react in a completely different way. The best adviser you have always by hand :)
What are your plans for the future?
Hopefully there are still some great opportunities in modeling in the near future, however, generally I don’t like planning. I will see what the future brings, though, I am going to make the best of it!

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?
For sure walking Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam, that was always one of my dreams, and Salonè della Moda show in Rotterdam which was my first big show in the Netherlands. I also enjoy my shooting days as well. As long as there is a good team of nice people, it becomes always a memorable experience.
Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?
If modeling is your dream, you should just try anything to make it real! Never ever give up only because somebody else has a different opinion than you! It is your life, not theirs!
Sometimes it can be hard to prove yourself, but remember not every agency looks for the same type of model and not everybody has the same opinion. Ask somewhere else or just start without agency, build your portfolio and get more catwalk experience. One day it will be your big breakthrough :)
And if are you not lucky? Don’t worry.. Where is it written that for making your dreams come true you must be an International topmodel and rock runways in New York? You can keep it small.. Just enjoy whatever you are doing and be happy! Because that is what life is about, right?
