Interview: Model Elle Harris (UK)

Can you tell us a little about you?

Im Elle i am a professional model based in the uk. I was miss England finalist and the current Miss vintage UK. Internationally published and featured cover model. Specialising in a wide spectrum, including vintage & pinup, beauty and fashion, lingerie, implied art, latex and cosplay.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

As i have got older i have leart to accept myself and would not change anything it is about enhancing your main features and this making yourself  younique, for instance i have pale freckly skin and red hair which i use this to my advantage.

How did you start modeling?

I started when i was 4 years old on holiday doing a child catwalk. When in my teenage years i did variouse beauty competitions including miss England. I then was aproached by a photographer for my love of vintage fashion and continued this ever since. I have now been modelling for the last three years doing between 1 to 4 shoots a week.

What do you think of the work as a model?

Working as a model is not just about being a model and knowing how to pose, it is about being your own hairdresser, makeup artist, stylist, and buissness woman. You have to be great at communicating and advertising yourself on social media.

What is your beauty regimen?

Every morning and night i use liz earl natural products and clense, tone and moisturise and once a week i use a face mask and exfoliate. I try my best to fit in a facial and massage when i can too.

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

For me it is important to enhancing your unique qualities this is what will make you stand out from the next best person. I feel that my main qualities are my freckly pale skin and red hair. But mainly I think it is about having a warming personality and being positive, as this is what someone remembers about you and remember people talk. I feel that if you enjoy modeling it shows how positive you are and this shines through and the team you work with will also recognise this and this will create a positive environment that will enable you to feel comfortable and confident when shooting. This will also be reflected in the pictures taken and hopefully help to produce pictures of a high standard.

What are your plans for the future?

I have recently got through to a competition for the uk’s numbler 1 selling pin-up calander and will be shooting for this which i am very excited about. I hope to continue modelling having fallen and mean some great people along the way. I aim to build on my portfolio and then go on to work with some of my favourite photographers.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

My most memorable experience was going over to shoot in ibiza . It was the first time I travelled alone and this gave me a great sense of empowerment and confidence. I really enjoyed shooting abroad and meeting some of the other models and working with a fantastic make-up artist and photographer, whilst also having fun and enjoying myself. To me modelling is about enjoying what you do and imperilling do yourself and other models along the way.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?

The new models wanting to start modelling I would say consider the areas of modelling that you would like to go into and whether you would like to do this, freelance or via an agency. I would recommend that you check out your favourite photographers and also take a good look at their references and decide whether you will go to the shoe on your own or take a chaperone remember safety first and pre-communication is key. This will prevent your boundaries from being pushed and will enable you to have a plan of what you intended to shoot.

What do you think of the magazine?

Modellenland magazine is a great magazine with fresh ideas that empowers other models and readers and shows some fo the most fantastic top-quality pictures. I love that it covers different aspects of modelling and not just one specific. It also gives you interviews from around the world and shows us that we are all not so dissimilar and we are all human and the anyone is able to achieve what they set out to with hard work and dedication.
