Can you tell us a little about you?

My name is Elvira Backteman and I am a nineteen-year-old girl based in Linkoping, Sweden. I graduated high school this spring and at the moment I am working, trying to figure out my next step.

Overall I am a positive thinker and enjoy trying new things and seeing new places. Traveling is one of my biggest interests alongside training, anything involving fashion and most importantly, socializing with my friends.

 

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

Hm, I don’t think I would change anything to be honest. All people have got “flaws” or traits that make them unique and I think that these things define whom we are. Although, I would perhaps like to be slightly more patient and less overanalyzing if I have to chose something.

 

How did you start modeling?

I entered the model world when I was 15 years old and won a small modeling competition held in a shopping center in my hometown. I didn’t even realize it was a real competition! Since then I have been working with Scandinavian Models, which has been such a great experience. This year I also joined Stockholmsgruppen so I am very exited about that.

 

What do you think of the work as a model?

As many others, I think it´s a tough, challenging industry that puts you under a lot of pressure, but at the same time I think that aspect of it helps and motivates you to evolve as a person. It’s not always easy, but in my opinion, modeling is a really enjoyable job and I really enjoy it.

I love meeting new people and through this career I come across so many interesting personalities. By being a model, I am constantly challenging myself, which is really important to me as well.

 

What is your beauty regimen?

Honestly, I don’t really have one. I try to exercise and eat healthy as much as I can and I drink green tea at least twice a day but that’s mostly because I enjoy it. Overall I am focusing on being myself and keeping it natural.

 

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

Not to brag, but my flawless dance moves that come out on occasion before shoots and my sense of humour haha. I think being open and fun creates a relaxed work environment which is very important at any job.

I also set very high goals. Ever since I was little I have always preassured myself to be amongst the best. I know that I can be, if I want to. I set high goals and I don’t stop until they’re fulfilled. It’s as simple as that.

 

What are your plans for the future?

I’m undecided at the moment, but I know that I want to end up in the fashion industry. I just haven’t decided if I’ll get there as a successful model, international buyer, marketing manager or something completely different. Time will tell!

 

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

That’s a difficult question. I really liked being the face of the brand Lotta Design of Sweden.

Also, I remember my first fashion show in Uppsala with Scandinavian Models where we did a fashion show for a shopping center and then some of the models got selected to walk for Swedish designers Ylva Liljefors and Carin Wester and I got selected for both. That was a really fun experience!

Overall I only have good memories of my work with the agency so all of them are favorites!

 

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?

Just do it! - If you believe in yourself others will as well!

 

What do you think of the magazine?

I think its great! It’s nice to be able to read about interesting people and events in your industry. It’s also a great platform to get to know more about the industry and an opportunity to create new collaborations etc.
