Interview: Model Halima Rouabhi (Spain)

Can you tell us a little about you?

My name is Halima Rouabhi, I’m 21, I am of Arab origin, Algeria to be exact, but I live in Spain (Alicante) since I was 3. I am currently studying advertising and public relations at the University of Alicante because it is related to the world of image, marketing, business and i think it has many doors open to the world of fashion that is what I would like to dedicate.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

In principle, I not change anything from me, I like my physical both body and face and think I have enough personality, I have things clear, high self-esteem and security in myself.

But on second thought, if I would have liked to be a little higher, because with my height and because beauty standards established in the fashion industry could never be a fashion model or modeling for any major brand.

I sincerely think society has evolved enough to cross off those very strict requirements called for in the world of fashion, extreme thinness, a certain height a type of body as specific measures etc.

If it is true that brands are seeking an image, and I respect that, but sometimes reach certain points where the models look robots created and controlled by them. And as it has evolved and been accepted by some companies and brands plus-size models, why not accept "petite" models? But good is a mere opinion.

How did you start modeling?

What how I started? MMM. Well I like the world of fashion since I was little, I like to take care of myself, I like fashion, follow trends but always with my own style.

And start what is said, a couple of years ago because it was leave the race to move me to another the following year and spent a year doing nothing and I felt a little empty ... And I said why not? Then I made a tfcd exchange with a photographer and I realized that I really liked though at first I was a little embarrassed. But what is said to start, I'm still starting, this last year I've done more things, more sessions of different styles, with different photographers, and even with other people posing with me. The last thing I have done has been a spot for a handbag shop in Alicante.

Well is how I started and as I continue begun, because this world is very difficult and I still have a long road ahead.

What do you think of the work as a model?

As I said before, I think it's a very difficult world, with lots of competition and in which you must stand out. Yet I think if you like if you feel passion for this work is very beautiful fight for something that you like and pursue it.

What is your beauty regimen?

I do not follow any strict regime, as everything and what I like. That I do like exercise, especially jogging. As for any beauty ritual, me I usually take as routine, I wash my face every morning with a cleanser gel and put on moisturizer, and usually once a week I make a face mask, to keep it clean flawless and as for the hair I usually do the same, every week or every two weeks I usually do me a hair mask to keep it as healthy as possible.

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

The qualities that could distinguish me from the rest, in personality is that I am very sure, determined and bighead and in this case, is good. Well because I have willpower and when I want something I do my best to get even fall a thousand times. As for the physical I think there are very few Arab women in the fashion world especially because of religion and think I have some very nice Arab features and there are few in this industry.

What are your plans for the future?

I would like to continue and grow as a model, especially in photography and catwalk as I mentioned earlier cannot. I would like to work for big brands make announcements of perfumes, clothing, cosmetic ...

Besides that, I mentioned before that I'm studying advertising and public relations, to finish the race mw would like to make the master in marketing and work both in front and behind the camera.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

My favorite experiences are always traveling, I love to know new places, new cultures and new people, and even if it does anything special, simply visit that place for me is special.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?

The only advice I give is beginning although I also, is that they do because they really like, they are passionate about, have fun and enjoy themselves with work.

What do you think of the magazine?

I think the purpose of the magazine is very nice because it helps artists, photographers’ models etc., to make themselves known and to open doors without asking anything in return.
