Interview: Model Laure Stefanini (France)

Can you tell us a little about you?

I’m a 26 year old model and I currently live in the south of France.

I share my life between modeling and working for a bank.

Modeling is very complementary to my job and is for me a way to meet new people but above to find out about myself.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

I think we are the way we are and the best way to be a good model is to accept yourself. Your imperfection can be your strength and always push us farther.

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

I know my strength is my kindness. In all my modeling jobs, it’s really important to me to get client’s feedback and know I’m doing a good job. I think people call me back for photo’s campaigns because I’m very professional and get along well with the whole team.

How did you start modeling?

Actually, come to think of it, I started very early thanks to my mom and all the children’s photo contest I participated in. And by the way... I won one!

But it’s really with a model friend I started modeling. She introduced me to the right people and with professional photos in my book, I was able to sign up with model agency.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

Each experience and job that I done, have very positive and enjoyable. I feel very lucky to have all these opportunities. Modeling had me meet amazing person. I especially think of a photographer who became one of my best friends. He helps me to give the best of myself and supports me when I have doubts.

To be more factual, I enjoyed making photos for a wedding dress designer and for a marine clothes campaign.

What do you think of the work as a model?

Some people think that modeling is very easy but it’s a real job actually: you need to be concentrated on set and expressive.

You have to be an actress by embodying many different characters.

It’s important to practice a lot, working hard to improve facial expressions and feel more comfortable in front of the camera to work to the best of your ability during shootings.

However in most cases, working as a model is so much fun! I have some good memories in backstage with MUA or photographer.

What is your beauty regimen?

I’m not on a diet but I like healthy food. In spite of my sweet tooth, I compensate by doing a lot of sport: yoga, fitness, running, tennis and diving.

I’m convinced sport is essential to keep a healthy body and spirit: on top of toning your body, you look more attractive. And a model always must be on top.

What are your plans for the future?

I just kind of go with opportunities.

I always want to work harder to get more experience and take part in great projects.

Each year I do a lot of things I would never have thought of doing and I hope it’ll stay that way.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?

Just be natural, believe in yourself and don’t get discouraged.

Modeling is hard work with a lot of competition. Remaining professional, kind and being yourself, it’s the best way to make the difference.

I’ll tell too for the young model:

  • Try to sign up with modeling agency as soon as possible to get some support and professional advice

  • Don’t accept any job you are not comfortable with

  • Make sure you collaborate with good photographer

And don’t forget to have fun!

What do you think of the magazine?

It’s a brilliant idea to collect in one magazine, interviews of models, photographers, MUA… all around the world.
