Interview: Model Luzia (Germany)

Tell us something about yourself:

Hi! I'm Luzia, in my early 20s and based in Franconia, Bavaria. I'm working on realizing my potential trough my job and modeling gives me the opportunity to do just that.

How did you start modeling?

About two years ago. It began with a small, private shoot. Offers by other photographers and agencies just kind of fell into place by then.

What do you think of the work as a model?
With modeling, I found something I could be really passionate about. You can immortalize a moment and by it stop time itself.

Think you in advance what you want in the picture?
Preparation is of utmost importance for pay jobs. The Internet and commercial videos are are a good starting point for me as I try to incorporate my found knowledge into my work. TFP jobs offer more freedom to improvise.

Studio Location both?
A bit of both. But if I had to choose, I'd say I prefer shooting at beautiful outdoor locations.

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?
I'm proud to say that what started out as a hobby slowly shifted towards a profession.

What has been your most memorable session and why?
I can't name just one. Meeting and collaborating with all kinds of different people - each with their own vision and ideas - is always an exciting experience and I love to be a part of it.

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new model looking to start?

I think your most important asset is authenticity. It's not about the perfect look, it's about transporting emotions. And to me, it's easier to do that if I can excite myself for and identify myself with the job.

What do you think of our new magazine?
It's a great opportunity to peek into other artist's work. Your articles do a great job at helping to get a clearer, full picture of the industry.
