Interview: Model Maria Eriksson (Sweden)

Can you tell us a little about you?
I started my model journey at the age of 13 and the photo session was in Siberia. With Russian blood i continued the journey in Sweden later on. I am a tall woman with my 178 cm and this has always been my advantage in several ways. A happy and lively woman who likes to workout and thinks that one actually have to be out there and have to be seen if you want to get somewhere in life.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?
I always had dreams of fixing my nose but today with the power of makeup you don't needto fix anything anymore. Maybe someday i will, but for now I'm happy with everything. The human body is a canvas carrying a soul, create your own beauty anyway you want!

How did you start modeling?
Just because of my tall height i was discovered really quickly. We were walking in Siberiawhen a photographer saw me and approached us with the question if i wanted to model forhim. But we were just on a trip to our families so it was only one photo session that time but we stayed in touch and are planning a new session when i get there next time.

What do you think of the work as a model?
I will work until i get what i want, that people will recognize me and see me on pictures everywhere.

What is your beauty regimen?
Stay healthy, exercise and don’t forget that you have a beautiful body that you need to take care of. If you don’t, who will? The human body feels better with exercise and love.

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?
Im really relaxed as a person and love to laugh. You always hear me from long distance with jokes and laughter. I am really into fashion and dress in costumes and dresses but at the same time I'm listening to hiphop. I think that it is this that distinguish me from others. Im not what i look like haha!

What are your plans for the future?
Become a successful model world wide.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?
Working in Russia as a model, i will never forget the opportunity to work with Russian photographers. They are so relaxed and funny to work with. One time i found my photographer standing upside down while he was testing the light and different lights. I’ve never seen a photographer be so dedicated to the work as Russian photographers.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?
Don’t jump on the very first photographer that contacts you, get your information and always write contracts before photo sessions so there wont be any questions later on. Do what you love and don't be afraid!

What do you think of the magazine?
The magazine is a really good thing for models and photographers to be seen worldwide and the thing with the interviews is a really awesome idea. In several other magazines there are only photos, its fun to get to know models in a relaxed forum.
