Interview: Model Olga Sokolova (Poland)

Can you tell us a little about you?

Hello and nice to meet you. My name is Olga and I am 23, although many people say that I look younger. I am Ukrainian living in Poland for three years. I am originally from the East of Ukraine. I was born in a small urban city, where I lived with my parents till I was 20 and I was overweight all that time J When I was 19 I unhappily fell in love and lost 30 kilograms. I studied to be a literature teacher in Ukraine, and after I graduated I decided to do my masters in Poland. And I chose Warsaw, but I don’t remember why J. So now I live there. I am writing my thesis and working. Well, mostly working. I worked in many places but now I am an assistant in the ad agency. I work here almost a year and I am tired of sitting on the office chair J Last spring I started to do modelling for fun, now it became my hobby. I don’t have many talents, but luckily I found my passion in posing for photos. Now it is very significant part of my life.

If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

I am really trying to be happy with myself and with what I have. But I probably would like to be taller and more self-confident J

How did you start modeling?

I did one photoshoot for myself with my friends, and posted pictures on the polish website MaxModels. I started to receive cooperation proposals. After that I started doing photos with different artists – privately and at workshops. So now I am not fully amateur J

What do you think of the work as a model?

Well, modeling is my hobby. But I won't hide that I am fascinated by the essence of this job – travels, make up and beautiful outfits. This work can be hard physically and mentally but it brings satisfaction. J

What is your beauty regimen?

I try to eat healthy and sleep normally. I hate sports but enjoy swimming, so I swim J

What are your personal qualities which distinguish you from others?

All in all I am a common person. I am overly talkative and often naïve.

What are your plans for the future?

I am a fatalist. Waiting for the miracle to happen.

What are some of your favorite experiences so far?

Surfing and driving motorbike in Italy J I enjoyed almost all the moments connected with photoshoots, even the hardest ones.

Do you have any advice for those who want to start modeling?

Work hard and believe in yourself!

What do you think of the magazine?

I think it’s a brilliant idea to promote artists and models who just start their way. Thank you for this opportunity!
