Interview: Photographer Adrianna Brzozowska (Poland)
Tell us something about yourself
I am a photographer based in Lublin, Poland. Student at the Catholic University in Lublin (KUL). I make wedding photos, portraits, beauty and fashion. I love taking photos of people, especially portraits.
How and when did you get into photography?
My beginning of photography is not a story of “I always loved photography” or “always wanted to be a photographer”. Actually, at first I was afraid of taking photos of people. I started early, when I was in high school. At the beginning my parents bought me a Canon camera to take photos at weddings. They simply gave me a job, because they have their own wedding enterprise – my dad is a leader of a wedding music band and my mother made professional videos. I took three individual classes with great wedding photographer, and my first wedding was in 2010. At that time I did not realise that I could love photography that much. Then I practiced photography by myself, taking photos of my friends and later started to cooperate with models, makeup artists and hair stylists. Now, I could not imagine my life without photography.
What does photography mean to you?
Photography is my addiction. When I do not take photos for a certain amount of time I feel hunger. This is my work and passion.
Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.
My photography is definitely feminine. I take mainly portrait and beauty photoshoots. I love to experiment in studio. When I take photos of couples I prefer to catch them naturally than just posing. I do my best to show the most beautiful side of my models and clients.
Where do you get inspiration from?
I read some fashion magazines, follow favourite photographers on Facebook and Instagram. Sometimes it is just my vision of how I want to capture a model, when I see beautiful location or interesting set of colours and light that I could use in a studio.
Think you in advance what you want in the picture?
I prefer to have a plan for a photoshoot, have all light configurations set in my mind, and ideas of capturing the moment when it is in location. However, once in a blue moon I like to do a session sontaneously.
Studio, on location or both?
-Recently I found myself better in studio, however I like to take photos in beautiful locations too.
Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?
Both. My work is my passion, could it be better?
What has been your most memorable session and why?
My first “real” photoshoot ever. In 2012, I asked my Erasmus friend Eleonore to pose me. She had a gorgeous dress, we found beautiful location, but when we got at the place it started to rain... Luckily she decided to pose anyway, even in the water, as she was already wet. It turned out that we did great photos. From this session I have a picture that was even accepted in PhotoVogue, I still love it today and the memory of taking photos in terrible rain is priceless.
What has been the biggest source of inspiration in your work?
I love the style of Alexi Lubomirski and Mark Seliger, their every single work is a masterpiece to me.

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?
When it comes to business it is often time of challenge. You want to do your best to comply with your clients expectations, and every client is another point of view and requirements.
What do you think of our new magazine?
I believe it is great source of inspiration for photographers. I saw great photoshoots here, and it makes me feel very appreciated at the same time. It is an honour to be a part of it.
