Tell us something about yourself

My name is Daniel Munk, I’m 21 years old and from Denmark, I work a regular 9-5 job but my dream is to be able to live of photography.

How and when did you get into photography?

I started shooting pictures in 2013. I bought a Nikon d3200 because I wanted to shoot videos and attended a video class, but all I ever did was taking pictures

What does photography mean to you?

Photography is my way of connecting with people, this is how I socialize the most actually, when I shoot pictures or edit them, I’m in my zone, so to speak

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.

I guess my style is very basic editting, and lighting wise, it`s not that I don’t want to go big or anything, I just like to keep it simple

Where do you get inspiration from?

Mostly from Facebook groups, like: “Womans Portraits Only”  “Modelfotograferne(DK group)” some Instagram post’s and of course this lovely magazine.

Think you in advance what you want in the picture?

I always plan clothing, make-up, location and some poses with the model/MUA and collect it in a moodboard on Pinterest

Studio, on location or both?

Mostly location, but of course, I do know how to use a light or two.

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?

Hobbyist, but I would like to earn my money on photography

What has been your most memorable session and why?

Properly my shoots with Elisa, we have a good connection and manage to have a lot of fun

What has been the biggest source of inspiration in your work?

Chase Jarvis, but mostly because of the way he communicate with people

Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?

Nikon all day, everyday, My favorite lens is either the Nikon 70-200 mm f/2.8 or the Sigma 85mm f/1.4

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?

Listen to Gary Vaynerchuck, easy as that really

What do you think of our new magazine?

I love it, it is nice to see a magazine full of talented people, and not full of corporate bullshit and hidden agendas
