Interview: Photographer Federico D’Amico (Italy)

Tell us something about yourself

What to say; I’m 23years old. Currently I live near Milan, I finished studying at the art fine Academy in October. I’m a sunny and secure person. I hate sameness, I always love knowing new persons, because they make feel alive. I’ve to be in contact with people. I’m deciding if I will continue with my study. Maybe I will attend a 2 year period or a Fashion Photography master.


How and when did you get into photography?

My passion for Photography born when I was 17. Before I didn’t know anything. I started when I discovered an old analog camera in the cellar. I started to shoot with that. When I buyed my first camera it was a little dream for me. I Studied Photography at the Art fine in Brescia. I never stop searching, stealing. Love fashion, beauty and anything around these.


What does photography mean to you?

Photography for me is freeze something in the time. Describe trend, behavior. I put a lot of myself. Just a look, a pose. Everything is the result of my interior development. I look for perfection, yes. But i really love simplicity.

 

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.

I can’t do it because it’s an incessant mutation, evolution. I Just do what I feel inside myself. I follow my instincts, my emotion. My secret? 
Hearing my Heartbeating. I look for perfection, beauty, but also the Teen’s common life. So I try to join beauty and reality.

 

Where do you get inspiration from?

My inspiration is the world. What is around me. All that surround me. I watch many movies, read magazines, look for new inspiration in other photographers or Artist of any genre.

 

Think you in advance what you want in the picture?

The perfection

 

Studio, on location or both?

Both, but on location i can express better what i want.

 

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?

 A paid professional, but its still too soon. I ‘m 23.

 

What has been your most memorable session and why?

In particular? I think my latest editorial for stickes and stones. Becouse the mood was perfect.

 

What has been the biggest source of inspiration in your work?

My first studies of photography ( best photographers in the history for example ;  Avedon, Lindbergh, Annie Leibovitz), and Art of Cinema.

 

Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?

Canon. 35mm and 50mm

 

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?

Get into the world photography, steal ideas, read many magazine, and shoot. To much

 

What do you think of our new magazine?

It s a really good  platform to show the talents of each field. It’s really important today  rapresent and focus on new talent people of the word about art.
