Tell us something about yourself
I’m 22 years old, I was born in Belarus, when I was 9 years old me and my family moved to Belgium. At the moment I’m a photography student at the Karel de Grote Hogeschool at Antwerp.
How and when did you get into photography?
As long as I can remember, I loved to paint and to draw. I also studied that in my high school years until the very end. I’ve always tried to represent the subject I’ve painted exactly like it was, but I’ve always had this frustration with painting because I just couldn’t show it on the paper like it was in real life. When I came to the realization that painting couldn’t give me the result I wanted, I’ve discovered photography, (because with a camera I could represent the reality exactly like it was) not at once of course, taking photo’s was just something I did sometimes. But in my last year of high school, in my last month’s actually, I had this random idea to study photography and it was the greatest decision in my life.
What does photography mean to you?
At the moment photography is something I do and something that describes me.
Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers.
Dreamy. Romantic. Elegant.
Where do you get inspiration from?
Elizabeth Messina is my biggest inspiration, she has mastered this elegance in her photography that just gives me this warm feeling every time I look at her work.
Think you in advance what you want in the picture?
I often have an idea but it always comes out different than it should be, but that isn’t a bad thing in my case. It’s just the way I work.
Studio, on location or both?
I love to do both.
Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?
A paid professional, I cannot imagine myself doing anything else!
What has been your most memorable session and why?
I think every session left me some special memories but this year, February and March I’ve spend time in Paris where I did my internship. And during fashion week I was contacted by Nanja Massy and Tiany Kiriloff to photograph them during their stay there. I photographed such inspiring people in an inspiring city, of course this was a memorable shoot!
What has been the biggest source of inspiration in your work?
Romance

Nikon and 50mm
What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?
Persistence.
