How and when did you get into photography?

My father taught me everything at the age of seven, including darkroom and development techniques

What does photography mean to you?

It’s my passion, it’s joy, it’s fun and it is my way to get my ideas and vision to life

Please briefly describe your photography style for our readers

I shot as much natura las possible.  try to create for every shooting new moments and sets. one of our specialities is the series „NOIR 1“ : Natural light with no makeup and no Retouching

We have a Studio close to Frankfurt Germany but mostly work in Germany and around the world in natural light. If we do editorial we try to create a natural look as well by using original or authentic props, locations etc.

Where do you get inspiration from?

I collect Photographers books (more than 300), Am a fan of Peter Lindbergh, Helmuth Newton, Greg Gorman, Vincent Peters, Gabo so I review ther work and by the same token use Pinterest to create the moodboards for every shooting

Think you in advance what you want in the picture?

For the NoirOne Series we use the light and the situation as it is. If it comes to editorials I prepare every shoot in advance very detaled by renting places, props, cars etc.

Studio, on location or both?

Mostly on location, Studio only for certain shoots or bad waether

Would you consider yourself a hobbyist or a paid professional?

Both – Semi-Professional

What has been the biggest source of inspiration in your work?

Often when I see a face, a location or something my mind starts creating moods already. Those are my drivers to set up a shooting tob ring this vision to life

What has been your most memorable session and why?

Every session is very special. But the shooting with Greg Gorman in Mendocino and in Kristiansund with people of the street have been very special as well as my 1st editorial with an German actor

Nikon or Canon? Favorite lens?

Nikon (D810/750)

What is one piece of advice you would like to offer a new photographer looking to start their own business?

Find out what your signature is, what do your picture stand for, what is your fingerprint. Concentrate on 1-2 topics, don’t shoot Portraits, Houses, Dogs, Horses, Boats etc. Try to create your own look so that people recognize your pictures by your look and style

What do you think of our new magazine?

Like the idea and look a lot, great editorials and artiss your represent here
